Join us at Nine Springs for a CPD day with Alex Brazkiewicz - Alex is a gifted and entertaining teacher who brings with him an incredible wealth of experience and we're delighted to welcome him back! 9.30 – 12.30: First Aid Refresher / Basic Life Support: The morning session is a half-day refresher session covering many subjects that would normally be included in the full-day First Aid certified training, and is designed to meet the needs of healthcare professionals in a clinical environment, helping us to keep our First Aid skills and knowledge up to date in between the full 3-yearly certified training sessions. Course covers: - Unconscious casualty - CPR - Defibrillator training - Choking - Medical conditions 1.30 – 5pm: Headaches & Vertigo – An Integrated Approach In this afternoon workshop you’ll learn about effective treatment strategies for headaches and the importance of always considering a potential pelvic imbalance in addition to a Zang-Fu / Chinese Medicine diagnosis, since there is usually a structural component involved (either as the primary cause – Ben – or compensatory symptoms – Biao). We'll work through a simple screening process together, and examine why the fascial network may result in headache with possible ways to help rectify this alongside useful point combinations. We will also look at vertigo, a co-morbidity often seen alongside headaches. You'll learn a simple screening plan, review key diagnostic considerations and potential red flags, and gain confidence in assessing and managing the most common cause of positional vertigo (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, BPPV) using the Dix-Hallpike test and Epley manoeuvre.
